What we do
The Williamson Lab is part of the Emory Empathetic AI for Health Institute and the A.I. Humanity initiative at Emory University and is housed with the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine in the Emory University School of Medicine. The lab has close ties to the Departments of Biomedical Informatics and Biomedical Engineering at Emory and GA Tech.
Areas of special interest to the lab include 1) integration of the naturally highly-multimodal data produced and consumed by the clinical practice of pathologists; 2) prediction of treatment response using pathology images, genomics, and transcriptomics; 3) answering fundamental questions regarding clinical implementation of models including when they are beneficial and how to validate them in a clinical setting; and 4) analysis of bias and fairness in models being clinically deployed.
